Éco-industries : l'environnement comme vecteur de développement

Ecological-industries: the environment as a vehicle for development

By its geographical position and its economy, Brittany has always had to anticipate environmental and energy challenges. There is no question of sitting back: here the challenges of transition are all stimuli for research and industry, with marine renewable energy leading the way.

From eco-industry to eco-sectors

Of course there is marine renewable energy but also obviously zero carbon mobility, farming impact, smart grids, water management, biomass, building technologies and much more. In Brittany, many industries have chosen to enter the dynamics of the energy transition in a transverse logic that is making eco-activities a new development pipeline.

Flagship skill sets: treatment and management of water quality, measurement and control technologies, waste treatment and recovery, renewable energy and ecological/organic resources, health and environment, Green IT.

Regional dynamics

The emergence of ecological industries, and more generally, the march towards the green economy, relies on private actors and the mobilisation of policy makers. Brittany intends to drive the energy transition process and spread its impact on industry and services. From the stimulation of sectors comes added value and jobs.
